Detailed breakdown: CentOS VPS

I ordered a CentOS VPS for a development environment. The ordering process was straightforward, letting me configure resources easily. Deployment was almost instant; I received access details within minutes. Performance has been stable, with no unexpected downtime. I tested their customer support with a billing question, and they responded within an hour, which is quite good. The pay-as-you-go billing is transparent and easy to track. I also used the snapshot feature, which worked flawlessly for creating recovery points. It's a reliable platform for anyone needing a robust virtual server, though I haven't tried their more advanced features like Managed Kubernetes yet.

Got a VPS, worked well

Needed a VPS for something, so I grabbed one here. It came up fast and just worked. No fuss, no drama. Easy to use, which is what I wanted. Pretty good experience overall.

Easy setup, great performance!

I spun up an Ubuntu VPS here and it was incredibly fast! The performance is outstanding for the price. I'm definitely going to use Serverspace again for my next project. Highly recommend to anyone needing solid cloud infrastructure!

Good value, minor snag

The Cloud Server I got offered really good performance for the cost, which was a pleasant surprise. Billing is pay-as-you-go, which I appreciate for flexibility. Delivery was quick, and the setup process was smooth. My only minor gripe was that the initial interface felt a tiny bit cluttered, but I got used to it fast enough. Overall, a solid choice.

First VPS purchase, decent value

This was my first time getting a VPS, and I was looking for something affordable. I signed up and got some free credit, which helped a lot. The pricing for the basic Linux Distro VPS was competitive. It felt like I got good value for my money, especially with that initial credit. Setup was quick, and it's been working fine for my small project.

How does the pay-as-you-go billing work here? Like, if I spin up a server for a few hours and then shut it down, do I pay for the whole day or just the hours it was on?

M Megan Brown 1 month ago
It's hourly billing, so you literally only pay for what you use, down to the minute sometimes. Super flexible.

Exactly. That's why I like them. If you accidentally leave something running, it's not a huge bill shock like some other places that charge for full days even if you only used an hour. Just make sure to properly shut down your resources.

Is there a minimum amount I have to put down when I first add money to my account?

P Paul A. 2 weeks ago
I don't think there's a strict minimum for just topping up, but for some of the new user bonuses, there might be a minimum deposit to qualify. For regular use, you can probably put in like $5 or $10.

Nah, not really a minimum for just adding funds to your balance. You can put in a small amount just to test things out. The credits you get from promos might have their own rules though.

Thinking of moving my WordPress site here. Is it pretty straightforward to migrate existing stuff to Serverspace?

R Richard Miller 2 weeks ago
It's usually fairly easy, especially if you're comfortable with server stuff. They have docs on migrating, and you can always just set up a new server and copy your site over. Depends on your current setup.

I migrated a small app from another host without too much trouble. Just make sure you have good backups of your current site first, always. Their Linux images are standard so it should be fine.

I'm a student and need some cloud resources for a side project. Do these guys offer any student discounts or anything like that?

J Jason B. 2 weeks ago
I think I saw something about a student developer program or free credits for students on their site. It's worth checking their 'promotional offers' page.

Yeah, they definitely have a student discount. My friend got some free credit when he signed up with his academic email. Not sure how much exactly, but it's a thing.

Is Serverspace any good compared to like, DigitalOcean or Vultr? I'm mostly looking for a solid VPS for a website.

A Adam Scott 1 week ago
I've used both DigitalOcean and Serverspace. Serverspace's performance felt a bit better for my specific workload, and the pricing was pretty competitive. DigitalOcean has a huge community though.

They're definitely in the same league. Serverspace has vStack which is cool, and I found their support a bit more responsive than Vultr's sometimes. Depends on what features you need most.

Got a promo code from a friend, where do I even put it in when I'm signing up?

M Michelle Harris 1 month ago
You usually enter it during the registration process or when you make your first deposit. Look for a field that says 'promo code' or 'referral code'.

Yeah, it's either at signup or when you add funds for the first time. Can't miss it usually.

Can you use PayPal to pay for stuff here? Or is it just credit cards?

R Robert P. 3 weeks ago
Yeah, they accept PayPal. I've used it multiple times.

They have a few payment options, including PayPal. I think they also do traditional credit cards and some crypto even, but PayPal is definitely an option.
